NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Mesquite City Council will hold public hearings at 7:00 P.M., Monday, October 19, 2020 at City Hall, 757 North Galloway, to determine whether the Mesquite Zoning Ordinance shall be amended as follows:
ZONING TEXT AMENDMENTS
1. Zoning Text Amendment No. 2020-05
Consider amending Section 3-203, Schedule of Permitted Uses; Section 3-507, Coin-Operated Amusement Devices, Section 6-102, Definitions; all pertaining to new and revised regulations for amusement devices, game machines, video games, and similar devices. (ZTA 2020-05)
2. Zoning Text Amendment No. 2020-07
Consider amending Mesquite Zoning Ordinance by making revisions and deletions to various parts and sections regarding Special Exceptions and matters related thereto; thereby identifying the “approval standards” for Special Exceptions are located in Section 5-206 and said “approval standards” are in addition to any “additional criteria” as may be set out in the Zoning Ordinance for any specific Special Exception. (ZTA 2020-07)

The Mesquite City Council will hold public hearings on the following items at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2020, in the City Council Chambers of City Hall located at 757 North Galloway Avenue, to determine whether the zoning classification shall be changed on the following properties:
ZONING FILE NO. Z0420-0139
Conduct a public hearing and consider Zoning Application No. Z0420-0139 submitted by Mazidji Group Engineering on behalf of SAM 77, Inc., for a Zoning Change from Agricultural District and Planned Development – General Retail District, Ordinance No. 2281 to General Retail, with a Conditional Use Permit to allow a Convenience Store and Limited Fuel Sales within 500 feet of a residential district and/or school. The request also includes a Comprehensive Plan Amendment from Low Density Residential to Neighborhood Retail, located at 400 and 3100 McKenzie Road.
